Kirti Kulhari On Separation With Husband Saahil: ‘I Tried A Lot To Save The Marriage But Could Not’

Actor Kirti Kulhari is currently busy carving her niche with her stellar acting performances, however, she made it to the headlines when she announced her separation from husband Saahil Sehgal on social media. Months after the announcement, in an interview, Kulhari has now opened up about ending her marriage with Saahil Sehgal. The actress spoke at length about the split. Although, she did not share the reason behind it and refused to elaborate on the reason or reasons that led to the separation.
Speaking with ETimes, the Mission Mangal actress opened up about her ending her marriage with Saahil and mentioned she has learnt a lot in the marriage. Kirti Kulhari said, “We came together in love, we came together to share something together, to share our lives together. And, if anything I do want to talk about is the fact that there’s a lot I have learnt in this marriage. And, Saahil will always have a big role and he has been a very big role in I am today and where I am professionally and personally and the decision to not do this anymore together was something that was based on one very simple fact that it's not bringing me the peace and happiness that anything in life should.”
According to Kirti, her father was supportive of her decision, while her mother for sometime at least wanted her to continue with the shaadi. The actress spoke about how she was at a point where she didn’t feel her peace and happiness and hence took a tough call. She shared, “Being in the marriage had stopped me from being at peace. It wasn’t making me peaceful. It wasn’t adding to my peace. It was rather taking away from it.” Kriti also revealed that she tried her best to save the marriage, but could not. When asked to elaborate about the reason behind the separation, the actress said her close ones are well aware of what transpired in her marital relationship. She said she would rather not discuss it in public.
Earlier in April 2020, the actress had made a post, announcing her separation with Sehgal. She wrote a note to let everyone know that she and Saahil decided to separate. Kirti said, “Not on papers, but in life.” During the interview, the actress also spoke about how supportive her parents are.
